R&D Technician | Utilimaster | Bristol, IN (Main)

Regular Employee | Salary Non-Exempt

What you'll do:

As the R&D Technician for Utilimaster (A Shyft Group Brand) based at our facility in Bristol, IN, you will be responsible for supporting the Engineering Team by completing engineering activities assigned to the group such as designing experiments, supporting prototype builds, verifying, and validating products, and field issue resolution.

Core Responsibilities:

• Build and test prototypes, interpreting technical drawings
• Conduct verification and validation tests, using data acquisition systems
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment, including electrical diagnostics
• Audit BOMs and production documents, ensuring DFM standards
• Support cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED required (Associate technical degree preferred)
• Three or more (3+) years of experience in vehicle testing or service
• Knowledge of electrical systems and data acquisition
• Proficiency in technical documentation and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Up to 10% travel
