Key Responsibilities Safety & Operations Management Maintain order and safety on the dock for all loading and unloading operations Supervise forklift operations and ensure compliance with all safety regulations Oversee weight scale operations and ensure proper recording of weights Supervise the unloading of all trucks and CCC units Coordinate loading of mattresses, trailers, and bales Schedule pickup arrangements before storage reaches capacity Inventory Distribution Direct incoming materials to warehouse, dump, or As-Is sales locations Collaborate with store supervisor on item selection for As-Is sales Ensure optimal distribution of materials for maximum resale value Manage material flow and storage efficiency Team Leadership Supervise and coordinate dock workers Maintain proper decorum of behavior and language according to Salvation Army policy Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures Foster a safe and productive work environment Qualifications Education & Experience High school graduate or equivalent Two years of transportation, warehouse, and/or loading dock experience Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent understanding of safety protocols and procedures Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence Capable of presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations Basic math skills including computing rates, ratios, and percentages Strong problem-solving abilities in standardized situations Physical Requirements Regularly required to use hands to finger or handle Reach with hands and arms Talk or hear Stand, walk, climb, or balance Stoop, kneel, or crouch Must regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds Frequently lift/move up to 100 pounds Occasionally lift/move more than 100 pounds Specific vision abilities include distance vision and some close vision Must wear back guard when doing substantial lifting or moving Work Environment Regular exposure to outside weather conditions Warehouse environment Moderate noise level What We Offer Opportunity to make a positive impact in your community Professional development opportunities Supportive work environment Comprehensive benefits package The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.
