Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Software Test Manager / Portfolio Manager for the TMAS 2 Contract, supporting the 47 Cyberspace Test Squadron

Our cybersecurity test team is searching for new members that can help us conduct system security analysis on systems and/or software to understand and identify vulnerabilities. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment, learning new technology areas, this is the place for you. We provide a number of opportunities to learn ranging from on-the-job training with other team members to formal courses for unique technology areas.

We realize that no one will have all of these qualifications. We are looking for people that can bring a strong foundation in one of the listed areas and are motivated to learn the others. Position responsibilities can span from compliance testing to penetration testing, depending on skillset.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Master's degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 10 years of technical experience is required. Additional experience ay be substituted for education.
  • Requires an active and fully adjudicated TS/SCI security clearance, and the ability maintain a TS/SCI security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must obtain the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Certified Tester Foundational Level (CTFL) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Waterfall & Agile software development methodologies.
  • Excellent self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent listening and public speaking skills.
  • Proficient with testing approaches, test management tools, and best practices.
  • Strong grasp of testing processes, test automation, and software.
  • Expert at developing test strategies, test cases, evaluating scripts, and putting them to use.
  • Solid foundation in the SDLC and standard assurance practices.
  • Knowledgeable in various Software Development Lifecycles.
  • Experience in resource management, resource planning, estimation, and project tracking.
  • Experience with Acquisition Category (ACAT) 1 program support requirements.
  • Experience in estimation, budgeting, program management, reporting, stakeholder management, and escalation management.
  • Experience in Test Management, Agile/SAFE, Testing process and tools, Project Planning, Project forecast, Estimations, Functional Testing, Automation Testing, and API Testing.
  • Ability to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of the following: Linux, Windows, VMware, OSI Model, Network traffic collection and analysis, enterprise network architecture, communication equipment and technologies, routers, mail and web servers, Intrusion Detection & Prevention Systems, firewalls, anti-virus tools, Jira, Confluence, Zephyr, and network traffic generation.
  • Programming or scripting skillset.
  • Understanding of AFIN & DODIN architecture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the test team through developing a test program's test support strategy to address test techniques, procedures, and methods for conducting and reporting on assigned test projects.
  • Direct development of a test program's deliverables to include Test Directive, Method of Test, Test Plans, Safety Plans, and Test Reports for assigned test projects.
  • Ensure adherence to test process through all steps of the test process.
  • Identify possible manning shortfalls and report to the Flight/CC and 47CTS/DO.
  • Maintain the project folder and project tracker in OGDB for each assigned project.
  • Ensure all test deliverables are completed and routed using LiveLink.
  • Responsible for ensuring the effective utilization of multiple test Engineers as well as Multiple Range/Automation engineers.
  • Ensure successful execution of multiple simultaneous test events.
  • Responsible and answerable for the program funding, schedule, and technical adequacy.
  • Tracking test results and providing updates to stakeholders.
  • Keeping abreast of developments in testing equipment, methods, and standards.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate reporting when it comes to test results.
  • Responsible for test-related risk assessment.
  • Setting goals, providing support, and offering strategies to help the team work together.
  • Maintains communication channels with all parties/stakeholders involved and provides regular updates on the progress of the project and the occurrence of any problems.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders, such as project managers, developers, and business analysts, to ensure that testing aligns with project goals.
  • Regularly interacts with senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
  • Ensure all testing activities are completed on time and within budget.
