University Advancement at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks highly qualified candidates for the position of Senior Philanthropic Advisor to join our Office of Gift Planning team. Reporting to the Executive Director for Gift Planning, this senior level position within the Office of Gift Planning will be responsible for working with some of the University of Virginia's highest potential donors and their professional advisors to maximize philanthropic impact. The Senior Philanthropic Advisor will increase the University's ability to accept gifts of complex assets in a timely and professional manner and will help donors and their advisors consider and understand charitable gift options that involve some level of tax, legal, or financial planning. The Senior Philanthropic Advisor must have a deep knowledge of charitable gift and tax laws and considerable experience structuring creative blended gifts and working with complex gift plans and assets, including real estate, closely-held businesses, partnerships, IRD assets, cryptocurrency, and other complex assets. The individual holding this position will partner with the University Advancement's executive leadership group to increase philanthropic support for the University of Virginia at the highest levels. This position requires the ability to travel frequently on behalf of the University and participate in occasional evening and weekend responsibilities. UVA Advancement offers a flexible and hybrid workplace. All team members must have access to and maintain a secure home office environment with high-speed internet service and work collaboratively with others using a variety of technologies and tools. This position will be required to work intermittently in our office building located in Charlottesville, Virginia. Although this position is eligible to work remotely, the incumbent should live within driving distance of Charlottesville to facilitate frequent visits to UVA Grounds.
