Senior Manager, Fleet & Safety

Job Summary:

Driving is the top cause of workplace death and serious injury. It is the responsibility of the Manager Fleet and Safety to create the safest possible work environment for Syneos Health employee drivers. This will be accomplished through the implementation of driver safety best practices and training. The resulting reduction of traffic crashes will lead to reduced risk for drivers.

Job Responsibilities

Collison Management

  • Crash review and root cause analysis of all Syneos Health collisions
  • Analyze accident estimates and photos to determine repair requirements
  • Determine if the involved vehicle is being repaired or if it will be totaled
    1. If being repaired, make sure the repairs are being completed promptly at an approved repair shop
    2. If being totaled, be certain that the vehicle is processed through an approved vendor in a timely manner
    3. Arrange to obtain either an available vehicle, or rental vehicle for the involved employee driver
  • Obtain any information pertinent to the collisions including - police reports, employee driver reports, driver statements, statements from all involved parties, witness statements, scene diagrams, photos of the scene, photos of all involved vehicles
  • Determine if any charges associated with the collision are being filed by the police
  • Ensure the accident management company is subrogating the collision to the best possible benefit of Syneos Health
  • Verify accident management vendor is following established policies and procedures

Safety Management

  • Development of Syneos Health driver safety training programs including:
  • Telematics and in cab coaching
  • Post incident coaching for drivers involved in collisions and certain violations
  • Ongoing safety education
  • New hire driver safety orientation
  • Identification of risk level drivers
  • Analyze historical data to determine best practices to improve driver safety
  • Review policies to determine if any updates are necessary
  • Establish a driver safety culture
  • Analyze MVRs and determine driver eligibility
  • Present details to committee for driver profile reviews and disciplinary action
  • Create a driver rewards program
  • Develop and provide custom reports to NPDs and leadership to help drive safety
  • Manage fleet and safety analyst and assign appropriate projects and tasks
  • Provide support to managers who identify unsafe drivers
  • Manage insurance requests and provide documentation to Risk Management
  • Review and analyze telematics data
  • Develop dashboards for the data lake as it relates to driver safety and collisions

Job Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of driver safety training
  • Ability to review crashes
  • Collison management experience
  • Experience reading motor vehicle records and determining risk levels of drivers
  • Knowledge of insurance and risk and policy development
  • Ability to handle extremely sensitive and confidential information
  • Manage and adapt to change and proficiency of dealing with ambiguity
  • Self-starter and the ability to work independently and within a team
  • Proven leadership ability in a high-performance work culture
  • Ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders in a professional and constructive manner
  • Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, decision making and writing skills
  • Highly organized with good time management capabilities and the ability to multitask
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Passion for customer focus and fleet excellence
  • Take initiative, displays with a sense of urgency and possesses a strong work ethic
  • Ability to handle extremely sensitive and confidential information

  • Good commercial, analytical, financial and business understanding
  • Ability to effectively interact and build a favorable business relationship across multiple departments
  • Flexible to work occasional extended hours to provide support
  • Defines, compiles and evaluates data of varying complexity to develop professionally prepared informational reports and recommendations on driver safety best practices
  • Reporting presented monthly, quarterly, and weekly to ensure continuous improvement
  • Responsible for the data integrity of the points assessment
  • Analytical and detail oriented to perform effective collision management
Education
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred

Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of fleet driver safety experience
  • Solid understanding and experience with MVRs, collision review, and accident repair required
  • Ability to work with external vendors and manage KPIs
  • Intermediate/Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel data formulas, charts, pivot tables and V-Lookup functions and the ability to learn new or proprietary systems

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $119,666 to $139,600. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
