Description

Accountable and responsible for the aircraft engine and Auxiliary Powerplant (APU) maintenance program, as well as the Quick Engine Change (QEC) program for the Air Wisconsin fleet. Primary duties include planning and scheduling aircraft APU/engine preventative and mandatory inspections/refurbishments. This position establishes departmental policies and procedures, acts as a liaison between maintenance operations, engine, APU & QEC vendors, the FAA and other internal departments.

Job Functions:



  • Promotes and fosters safety and compliance as a forefront in all aspects of decision making and execution of plans.
  • Oversees the aircraft engine and APU programs, including QEC repair with internal resources and external vendors.
  • Strategically reviews methodologies to ensure maximum effectiveness of resource availability while optimizing scheduled engine & APU maintenance requirements.
  • Strategizes continuous improvement initiatives with internal production control teams and external suppliers; mentors the team to ensure top tier performance.
  • Responsible and accountable for the integrity of the processes, procedures and tools used to ascertain compliance of the engine and APU maintenance schedule as approved.
  • Reports changes in the Engine/APU schedule when daily flight operations are impacted.
  • Provides guidance related to engine and APU related discrepancies.
  • Responsible and accountable for the preparation of departmental and program budgets including variance reporting.
  • Reports applicable maintenance and engine/APU program requirements to external and internal resources including senior and executive leadership.
  • Ensures adequate aircraft engines, engine components, APU engines and APU components are available for scheduled and unscheduled events, develops work scope, and maintains complete and accurate records.
  • Manages the approval of vendor requested deviations during the aircraft engine repair and overhaul process in accordance with published procedures and requirements.
  • Participates in vendor negotiations and processes. Develops materials planning and coordination processes for support of external maintenance programs and is involved in discussions, as necessary, with internal departments.
  • Participates in industry working groups and committees.


Required Competencies:



  • Superior judgment and exceptional initiative to ensure compliance with appropriate regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English.


Education & Experience:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Aircraft Maintenance Planning or Aviation Program Management


Preferred:



  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant license
  • Fluency in French or Spanish
