GFT is seeking a Senior Project Civil / Site Engineer to join our GHD Team in the Mid-Atlantic or North East!

What you'll be challenged to do:
This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Senior Civil / Geotechnical Engineer who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The role highlights a customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional quality and results on every project.

As a Senior Project Civil / Site Engineer, you will provide civil/site design assistance for a wide variety of public (federal/state/municipal) and private (commercial and recreational) sector projects, including reservoirs, dams, levees and canals. The scale and specialized nature of these projects carry some unique challenges; however, they frequently incorporate civil/site design features that are common to other land development projects such as buildings, roads, parking facilities, utilities, and stormwater facilities. You will also perform routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following
  • Serving as project manager or lead engineer for multidiscipline projects directing and coordinating design efforts and delegating tasks and performing quality control reviews of in-progress and completed deliverables including drawings and specifications.
  • Preparing conceptual and design drawings for projects working with Senior Designers and Engineers using Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Developing drawings in compliance with company and client CAD standards, processes, and protocols. Navigating and utilizing online project document control system (e.g., ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud).
  • Preparing plan/profiles, grading, cross-sections, profiles, alignments, drainage, etc.
  • Preparing comprehensive stormwater management designs and reports.
  • Preparing plan details and outlines, technical specifications, studies and reports, and cost estimates.
  • Gathering and recording information to be used for cost estimating.
  • Reviewing vendor drawings to assure compliance with specifications.
  • Performing field tests and measurements, collects field data.
  • Interfacing with clients to gather information and present deliverables.
  • Leading or assisting with preparation of technical and cost proposals.
Education | Experience:
What you will bring to our firm:
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is required
  • 8-15 years of Civil/Site experience required
  • Experience managing daily workload for small to mid-size Civil/Site teams
  • Experience preparing proposals, invoicing and tracking budgets
  • General knowledge of typical land development approval processes including site design and grading, stormwater management and E&S design, and NPDES permitting.
  • Progressive experience in the evaluation, design, permitting and construction administration of Civil/Site design features
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $148,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
