Essential Job Duties
The Senior Director of Student Services and Graduate Student Support will report to the Assistant Dean for Student Success. The person in this position will also be expected to collaborate with internal and external college stake-holders to support all aspects of undergraduate and graduate student life in the College of Education. This will entail working with the Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs, Department Heads, and Directors of Graduate Programs in ensuring graduate student success and assessing graduate programs. This position requires strong supervisory and team-building skills.
In general, the position will focus on graduate student success, program support and assessment (60%), recruitment vision and oversight (20%), and oversee Student Success and Advising Center ( SSAC) operations (20%) The Director may qualify for a secondary appointment as a professional track faculty member in the College of Education.
Note: This position requires an on campus presence to effectively perform the essential duties of the position. As such, employees must reside within a commutable distance and must report to campus regularly to perform certain work-related tasks
Other Responsibilities

  • Foster a community of successful learners among NC State's graduate students
  • Build relationships with faculty and serve as a liaison between faculty and graduate students
  • Lead the College, in conjunction with faculty, in socializing new graduate students into the College of Education (e.g., organize and lead orientation sessions, share expectations, lead students through websites; lead students through SIS)
  • Special projects as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Student Success.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Doctoral degree attained within first months of employment. Post-master's credentials or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.

  • Recruitment and Enrollment Management

    • Extensive experience in designing and executing strategic recruitment and enrollment initiatives to attract and retain students.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills, with a track record of successfully overseeing complex operations within an academic environment.
    • Proficiency in utilizing data-driven approaches to inform recruitment efforts and improve student engagement.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of a faculty member at a research intensive university.
  • Experience working with graduate students at a research-intensive university.
  • Experience supervising student focused professionals.
  • Knowledge of student services and student development.
  • Proven track record in securing grant funding.
  • Technology Proficiency.
  • Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., SIS, GSOARS).
  • Operational Management.
