Commercial Auto Claims Examiner COMPANY OVERVIEW
A leading national transportation and logistics company specializing in specialized freight transportation seeks a highly skilled Senior Claims Examiner to join their in-house claims team.

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a high-energy, decisive Senior Claims Examiner with extensive experience in litigation, catastrophic claims, and complex claims management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage high-stakes claims in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide immediate contact (within 24 hours) with all parties involved in claims
  • Conduct comprehensive coverage analysis and communication with insured parties
  • Exercise critical judgment in analyzing claims exposure and determining appropriate settlement strategies
  • Investigate claims through prompt and thorough communication with policyholders, claimants, law enforcement agencies, witnesses, medical providers and technical experts
  • Identify and verify the nature and extent of reported and potential injuries or property damage
  • Develop and manage litigation plans in collaboration with management and defense counsel
  • Maintain meticulous claim files and implement effective diary management systems
  • Negotiate claim dispositions with insured parties and legal representatives
  • Participate in legal proceedings, including Examinations under oath (EUOs), Mediations, Arbitrations, Pre-trials and trials.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and protect organizational interests
  • Support workload surges and catastrophe operations, including potential significant overtime
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers, management, clients, and vendors
  • Rotate on-call responsibilities as part of the team schedule

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
10+ years of experience in:
  • Litigation management
  • Catastrophic claims handling
  • Complex claims involving dismemberment and fatalities
  • Trucking industry claims
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Exceptional decision-making abilities

  • Ability to manage complex claims workflow
  • Strong data gathering and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated adaptability to industry changes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
  • Bachelor's Degree (required)
  • 620 License (required)
  • CPC Certification (preferred)

WORK SCHEDULE
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • 30-day on-call rotation
  • Occasional travel for in-person mediations (majority of meetings via Zoom)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid Work Model: 3-4 days in-office)
  • Small, collaborative team
  • Flexibility for nontraditional work hours
  • Willingness to support team during high-intensity periods

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;
  • other business and organizational needs.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
