Overview -The Maintenance Electrician is a skilled industrial electrician experienced in the operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of motors, motor control systems, electrical devices, electrical supplies, field instrumentation.

• Job Duties:
  
  
  
  • Comply with all company and site policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshooting electrical system problems and initiate the repair
    
    
    
    • Motors
    • Motor controls
    • VFD's
    • Switches
    • Wiring
    • Lighting
    • Bonding and grounding
    • Other electrical systems
    
    
    
    
  • Perform breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment, including disassembly, overhaul, and reassembly of complex equipment and components.
  • Perform PM's as directed.
  • Interface with electrical vendors and contractors for maintenance and other related activities.
  • Monitor Motor Control Center and equipment reliability and performance
  • Complete maintenance of electrical equipment to correct any issues identified through the predictive and preventative maintenance program
  • Assemble components from supplied instructions or drawings and fabricate simple components, assemblies, or electrical modifications per engineering designs.
  • Properly use hand tools, fixed and portable power tools.
  • Document repair work history per site process.
  • Participate on site improvement teams.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of capital projects, as required.
  • Work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, boom lifts, scissors lifts.
  
  
  
  

• Required knowledge:
  
  
  
  • Ability to read and update electrical and instrument documents such as schematics, specifications, control diagrams, P&IDs, and one-line diagrams.
  • Thorough knowledge of 480V 3-phase AC electrical systems
  • Thorough knowledge of DC electrical systems
  • Knowledge of 480V VFD's and programming
  • Knowledge of NEC
  • Knowledge of NFPA70E
  
  
  
  

• Preferred knowledge
  
  
  
  • Relevant experience in Maintenance in the chemical, power, or refining industries.
  • Ability to fabricate and install conduit and hangers
  • Ability to build/modify electrical enclosures
  • Experience with electrically classified (explosion proof) systems
  
  
  
  

• Minimum Qualifications
  
  
  
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Journeyman's Electrician's License for the State of Delaware
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience related to the job roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to drive forklift
  • Ability to use scissor lift or boom lift
