POSITION SUMMARY
The Chemical Loader will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of railcars with a variety of products and chemicals, as well as, overseeing and attending the truck rack when necessary. The incumbent is also responsible for working with the engineer on the train to safely move railcars in, out and around the facility.
Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure that the railcar is positioned and secured properly at the loading rack and checks for last product contained.
  • Visually inspects the railcar before transfer to ensure that it is mechanically sound and has no defective equipment.
  • Wear all protective clothing and equipment, including respirator and fresh air equipment that may be required to transfer the product in a manner that ensures maximum personal safety.
  • Connect loading arm / hose and transfers according to procedures using gauges and/or strapping tables.
  • Disconnect loading arm / hose, inspect for any leaks and complete required paperwork prior to releasing railcar.
  • Complete any other duties that may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have and maintain a valid Class A with manual shift experience, be eligible to drive a Company vehicle and meet the requirements of the Company's vehicle program, policy and/or guidelines
