We are searching for a talented Clinical Support Educator

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day/Evening shift, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 8:30pm, Saturday - Sunday 9:00am - 5:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

Position reports to Urgent Care Practice Manager. Perform a wide variety of duties in the staff educator role in support of Urgent Care clinical operations. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to education, quality, and staff development of medical assistants (MA), LPNs (for all competencies excluding medication administration, phlebotomy and IV training) and Radiology Technologist (RTs in their medical assistant capacity). Collaborate with Professional Development on orientation and onboarding of MAs, LPNs and Co-Op students. Review, measure and evaluate current clinical knowledge, proficiency of technical skills, applications of critical thinking and clinical performance of each member. Assist with the planning, organizing and implementing of orientation and ongoing educational programs for UCC clinical support personnel. Support operational teams in quality and patient safety improvement activities. May facilitate quality improvement initiatives, develop and administer UCC specific clinical skills day(s) and represent care sites on committees as directed by Practice Manager. Will work as a medical assistant on the clinical floor when not actively training/onboarding new clinical support staff and follow the scheduling rotations including weekends.


Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program is required.
  • Must maintain competency within areas of own position responsibilities.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Three (3) years certified medical assistant experience is required.
  • Demonstrated education experience (preceptor, training, etc.) in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite and EMR experience is preferred.
  • EPIC ASAP module experience preferred.
  • Experience in an Urgent Care setting preferred.
  • National third-party Medical Assistant certification, such as AMCA, AAMA, AMT, CCMA (NHA certification) is required.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • Must complete the AHA BLS Instructor Course and receive certification when offered by Southcoast Health.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.



Pay Range

USD $25.98 - USD $43.67 /Hr.

Every other weekend and every other holiday
