Part Time - Pilot

Summary

Maintains and manages aircraft(s) for the company to ensure that all maintenance and operational records are up-to-date to ensure safe operations. Manages all tasks related to managing the aircraft including insuring aircraft readiness, storage, operational issues and fuel purchasing.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensures aircraft readiness for flight dispatches and requests for services as directed by the Chief Executive Officer.
2. Greets owners/passengers pre-flight, makes introductions and brief on the specific flight/trip and verifies itinerary/provides passengers with weather updates and safety briefings. Assists with passenger seating and luggage storage
3. Makes preflight inspections prior to scheduled flight(s); studies weather conditions at destination, enroute, alternative airports and departure points, and makes any decision necessary to start, delay or cancel the flight as operating conditions indicate.
4. Ensures that the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passenger(s).
5. Provides the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, take-off and landing of each flight per FAA guidelines.
6. Considers airport altitudes, outside temperatures, plane/passenger weights and wind speeds and directions to calculate the speed needed to become airborne.
7. Conducts regular maintenance checks on the aircraft's technical performance to ensure proper maintenance as well as efficient and safe operation.
8. Prepares and maintains detailed evaluation reports and records of each flight, including flight plans, load manifests and flight checklists.
9. Acts as final authority on aircraft with respect to all areas of operation including the compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
10. Complies with domestic/internal laws and regulations, company-specific policies and aviation standard operating procedures.
11. Plans and executes pilot activities in a professional manner, ensuring safety is maintained throughout the process through quality decisions.
12. Provides a high-level of customer service and care throughout operations.
13. Communicates any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the company and completes any paperwork associated with maintenance.
14. Monitors engines, fuel consumption and other aircraft systems during flight.
15. Navigates the aircraft by using cockpit instruments and visual references.
16. Assists with emergency evacuations.

Knowledge of:

Theories and practices of the FAA and American Pilots Association for aviation safety.

Principles and methods for describing the features of land, sea, air masses, including physical characteristics, locations, interrelationships and distribution of plant, animal and human life.

Compliance with external regulatory agencies and organizations for all areas of responsibility.

Skills in:

Operation and control, including controlling operations of equipment or systems.

Monitoring gauges, dials and/or other indicates to ensure the aircraft is working properly.

Critical thinking and using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Ongoing development of a servant leadership culture that strives to achieve the highest ethical standards.

Organization with strong attention to detail.

Ability to:

Quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.

Apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard aircraft pilot techniques, procedures and criteria.

Adapt to rotating schedules and short-notice callouts.

Perform flights in day, night, and all weather conditions.

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and identify and recommend solutions to problems.

Maintain confidentiality and professional discretion.

Review and analyze report information, while using critical thinking skills to evaluate data for regulatory compliance.

Organize, prioritize and track multiple tasks with strong attention to efficiency and detail.

Work independently, as well as collaboratively, within a team environment.

Provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner within a high-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors' degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university, or a combination of experience and training.
• 3000 hours total time (airplane)
• 1500 hours PIC (airplane)
• 500 hours of multi-engine time
• 500 hours cumulative night experience
• 200 hours of cumulative IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) and/or VFR (Visual Flight Rules) experience
• FAR 135 experience preferred

• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
• Currently 6 types of US Pilot Types
• Sport Pilot
• Recreational Pilot
• Private Pilot
• Commercial Pilot
• Flight Instructor Pilot
• Airline Transport Pilot
• Current Class I - II - III Medical Certificate
• Class I - Airline transport pilots
• Class II - Commercial Pilots
• Class III - Student, Recreational and Private Pilots
• FCC Radio Permit
• Valid Passport
• Valid Driver's License

Experience:

Five (5) to seven (7) years' experience as a pilot in a commercial, private or airline setting. Autonomous Navigation Systems, Dependent Navigation or Onboard Communications and Safety Systems preferred
