The expected salary for this position is $101,151.33. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table. This position may include membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

We are currently accepting applications for fellowship positions in the Department of Radiological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, beginning in the 2025 academic year. A two-year Oncologic Imaging fellowship is offered, focusing on advanced training in cross-sectional imaging for cancer diagnosis, staging, and treatment monitoring. Rotations include Abdominal Imaging, Cardiothoracic Imaging, and PET/CT, with participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards and opportunities for research in oncologic imaging. Fellowships are at the Health Sciences Clinical Instructor level, based at the UC Irvine Medical Center, and will have benefits and privileges through the University of California, Irvine.

Our mission, within the Department, and in a broader context as a University of California School of Medicine campus, is to provide an excellent educational experience to produce highly trained fellows who will go on to become leaders in their field. We provide an optimal combination of highly advanced imaging volume, variety of cases, experience with protocoling, academic and research time to produce highly trained oncologic imagers with extensive expertise in cancer-related imaging across body systems. Fellows will gain experience with oncologic protocols for CT, MRI, ultrasound, and PET/CT including cancer staging, response assessment, and follow-up. Participation in the department's on-going research projects and publication is highly encouraged.

Successful applicants will be Health Sciences Clinical Instructors in the School of Medicine and will actively participate in the teaching of UC Irvine residents and medical students, as well as participate in several interdisciplinary conferences.

The University of California, Irvine Medical Center is a 411-bed tertiary and quaternary care hospital with all residencies. UCIMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center in urban Orange County.
