Under functional guidance, responsible for leading a professional services lending vertical; will be responsible for leading a team of Private Bankers, providing financial expertise on products and services to high-net-worth clients and businesses, with specific focus on lending to professional service clients. This leader will uncover new opportunities and win new business, partner with private banking executives in each region across the Private Wealth footprint, who are responsible for expanding and deepening relationships, primarily focused on professional services. May not be the ultimate relationship manager to the customer but will be responsible for the timely and efficient transfer to that resource that can best serve the customer. Work closely with sales and relationship management leaders in other business lines to facilitate the development of new relationships as well as provide Associated-wide financial solutions to existing clients. Assist in building deposits, loans, fee income, and overall asset growth. This will be accomplished by acting as a portal across Associated bringing together the right resources, providing convenience to clients, and providing organizational wide solutions to clients.

This position requires a credit check per 12 CFR Chapter X, Part 1026, Truth in Lending, Regulation Z.

What you will do:

  • Operate in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws. Must submit required information to meet registry requirements, obtain a unique identifier, and maintain the registration requirements as directed by the S.A.F.E Act.
  • Initiate new business opportunities for the bank through participating in community and business functions, the development of new centers of influence (COI) business contacts and maintenance of existing client relationship to ensure sales and revenue growth across the company's footprint, specifically focused on professional services lending.
  • Responsible for profitable loan and deposit growth through lead lists, and COI to grow market share. Client and prospect calling activity consists of telephone and in person calling. Overnight travel across the Associated Bank footprint will be required.
  • Lead by example while driving team for results and inspiring colleagues to serve their clients while effectively surfacing and closing new business opportunities. Manage team, including establishing goals, holding colleagues accountable, managing performance, and developing effective and successful team.
  • Direct the activities of the Private Banking business development function focused on the professional services vertical in a manner that mirrors the business plan of the company.
  • Identify and refer business to Consumer Banking, Private Wealth, Mortgage Banking and other business partners as appropriate. Responsible for cross-selling all bank products and services.
  • Serve as the strategic thought leader for Private Wealth as it relates to the professional services vertical. As a senior leader within Private Wealth, participate in the strategic planning process for the business line. Play an integral role in surfacing new ideas for products, services and business development.
  • Risk Management and Credit Administration - Provide risk oversight for the team's credit and client banking activities. This includes fostering a culture of compliance within the team and providing counsel relative to day-to-day credit portfolio and account management issues.
  • Provide financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients regarding trends and conditions of the business environment and general banking trends though bank approved sources.
  • Project Management - Participate in ad hoc projects related to the business where achieving defined results requires the leadership, time management and analytic capabilities to produce a successful outcome.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Finance, Accounting or related field

7+ Direct experience in banking, commercial/professional lending, financial planning, and/or investments. Proven ability to garner assets in a banking environment.

7+ Dealing with unique financial needs of the high-net-worth customers. Knowledge of all banking products and business development.
