Summary:

A meaningful educational experience for a college student to gain valuable experience in their field of study; while accomplishing tasks and completing projects in an enriching environment. The Intern will gain networking opportunities that include interactions with CHRISTUS leaders and Associates. The Intern will be provided with a variety of projects to support learning objectives in CHRISTUS Health Plan's Finance team.

Responsibilities:


  • Financial Data Analysis: Assisting with analyzing financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas of improvement. This could involve creating reports, running basic financial models, or working with large datasets in Excel.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting Support: Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes by compiling data, updating financial models, and tracking variances between actual and projected performance.
  • Project Support: Supporting specific projects like audits, tax filings, or financial system updates, including data gathering, document preparation, and communicating findings to senior team members.
  • Process Improvement: Assisting in the identification of areas where financial processes could be streamlined or automated, potentially helping the team become more efficient.
  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

Requirements:

Experience:


  • At lease 2 years of college preparation towards major.

Education:


  • Currently enrolled in a College degree program in one of the following degree program; [Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Financial Engineering, Management, Mathematics, Statistics or something similar].
  • PC and Microsoft Office Skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work with others.
  • Quick learner with attention to detail, high degree of confidentiality and solid organizational skills.
  • Needs to be resourceful, innovative and persuasive with ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
