What is the opportunity?

The US Data Strategy Team is undertaking multiple complex initiatives as part of our continued strategic vision to enhance data automation, analytics, reporting and governance across US Finance. In this role, the candidate will support and drive data management initiatives including remediation and automation within the U.S. Data Strategy Group. This includes transforming and automating business and reporting processes, partnering across functions including regulatory reporting, IT and other stakeholders to help support, drive, and execute target state plans.

What will you do?

  • Perform data/root cause analysis to create solutions for data-related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
  • Support new business/project initiatives with respect to strategic data sourcing and data management.
  • Design and implement the automation of manual processes within US Finance including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and project management.
  • Work closely with a team of Application Developers, Architects, and Business Analysts to develop end state architecture/design solutions.
  • Support monthly and quarterly regulatory reporting and financial reporting processes to execute and write queries for automation.
  • Work closely with all Business Units and Software teams to implement strategy for long-term data platform architecture.
  • Represent the business needs while interfacing with technology for major initiatives, working collaboratively on scope and requirements.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering or Liberal Arts coupled with change management experience in complex programs with high frequency of requests and multiple priorities.
  • A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a Financial Services company, preferably with a focus in Finance, Risk, Regulatory Reporting or Data Office.
  • Skillful in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

Nice-to-have:

  • Understanding of concepts and processes related to data management, such as Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data architecture, data models, data lineage, data quality, data dictionary, etc.
  • Experience working on data projects, preferably in Financial Services sector.
  • Hands on experience with Alteryx, Business Objects, Tableau and advanced Excel functions.
  • Basic database language skills (SQL), R

The expected salary range for this particular position is $80,000-$135,000 depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.

You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
