HX5 is currently seeking a Software Engineer supporting the T-7 Aircraft for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Training Division at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand DoD, AF, and common engineering principles, processes, and procedures to support existing/future AF and joint-service aircraft

  • Translate user requirements into design, development, fabrication, test and evaluation of weapon systems and equipment for fielding and deployment

  • Demonstrate knowledge of software engineering to support the design, development, testing and evaluation, implementation, maintenance, and administration of new and/or existing software systems

  • Apply an understanding of systems acquisition, hardware/software integration, requirements analysis, computer systems architecture, and system testing and evaluation

  • Apply extensive knowledge of software assurance practices and tools including: architecture and design analysis tools, origin analyzers, source code weakness analyzers and binary analyzers.

  • Support the development of software development strategy and Software Development Plans (SDP).

  • Apply an understanding of aeronautical vehicle systems, avionics systems, and/or related ground systems to support engineering tasks related to software engineering

Education and Experience:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:

  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoD
  • OR ... ABET Accredited Bachelor's Degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) of which must be in the DoD

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire.
  • Must be able to travel, including air travel.
