Job Summary
Ducommun is seeking an Engineering Intern for summer 2025 to provide engineering support.
- Manages all aspects of small projects with regular review by senior staff
- Development and prototype testing of ammunition handling systems
- Process ECOs (engineer change orders) and support engineering documentation
- Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members
- Performs other duties as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 3D CAD Modeling and drawing skills required. Autodesk inventor preferred
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Proficient in technical writing, good documentation skills; attention to detail is critical
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Prior experience with an ISO or AS9100 environment is a plus
- Prior hands-on experience with hand tools and hardware preferred
- Prior experience on an engineer team (school or personal projects included) preferred
- Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities
- Understanding of DOE (Design of Experiments)
- Working knowledge at an intermediate level of computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate with customers and project company image
- Ability to handle multiple tasks smoothly
Required Experience and Education
- Upper-level or Graduate student
studying Mechanical Engineering,
Aerospace Engineering, or similar from an accredited College or University - Must be continuing education post
internship
