In this role, you will support the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of Blue Origin's test facilities in Kent, focusing on component cryogenic, pneumatic, and hydraulic testing. This is a hands-on engineering and project management position for testing components and systems supporting all Blue Origin business units. - This position is fixed term and encouraged to last through December 31, 2025, with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance.
- Shifts:
- Primary shift: Monday - Friday (7am - 5:30pm)
- Secondary shift: Open to working second shift (3pm - 1:30am) as needed
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Design, plan, fabricate, install, and operate hydrostatic, fluid flow, propellant, pneumatic, or cryogenic test facilities.
- Ensure all systems align with relevant safety and performance standards.
- Develop and carry out detailed test plans and procedures for high pressure pneumatic systems in cryogenic environments.
- Perform detailed data reduction and reviews following test execution.
- Understand and troubleshoot fluid and instrumentation systems to resolve testing errors and ensure accurate data collection.
- Conduct root cause analysis, system hazard analysis, and failure investigations.
- Uncover opportunities for improving safety and reducing expenses.
- Plan and coordinate facility maintenance to ensure efficient performance and safety.
- Design, define, procure, and install system components and materials.
- Manage vendors and subcontractors during installation to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Proactively prepare and deliver status updates both within the organization and to direct customers.
- Demonstrate high standards in test operations and work cooperatively with a diverse team of Integration Engineers, Responsible Engineers, and BLUE customers to ensure requirements are met.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in testing high pressure pneumatic systems.
- Proven experience in the design, planning, fabrication, installation, and operation of various test facilities.
- Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, cryogenic systems, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving within complex testing environments.
- Experience with root cause analysis, system hazard analysis, and failure investigations.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Proactive and meticulous with a dedication to high standards.

Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $96,310.00-$134,833.65
