The University of Virginia Library seeks a librarian with a vision for the future of library description and discovery and management and mentoring of staff for the role of Manager, Metadata and Discovery Services (MDS) Team. Reporting to the Director, Digital Strategies and Discovery, the MDS Manager oversees operations and workflows for MARC and non-MARC description, discovery for analog and digital resources, and participates in regional and national consortia and initiatives. The successful candidate will have key responsibility for leading the transition to the updated RDA Toolkit. Directly supervises a staff of 7 FTE. Anticipated hiring range: $80,000-95,000. Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience. Review of applicants will begin April 21, 2025. This position is located in Charlottesville, VA with the opportunity of a hybrid work schedule (2 days per week) after the required in-person training and probationary period upon approval of supervisor.
