The University of Virginia School of Architecture is seeking applications for a Facilities Manager to join our team. The School of Architecture includes the oldest architectural history department in the nation and top-ranked degree programs in architecture, landscape architecture, urban and environmental planning, as well as newly established programs in urban design, historic preservation, and real estate and design. In the century since its beginnings, the School of Architecture has grown to approximately 400 undergraduate and 275 graduate students, as well as nearly 70 full-time faculty and 30 full-time staff. The Facilities Manager assists with a variety of administrative services and project coordination activities for on and off-grounds buildings and facilities, custodial services and emergency management plans for all managed facilities for the School of Architecture. This position prioritizes achieving organizational excellence across academic and administrative areas and supports a budget model that fosters entrepreneurial and collaborative actions in all departments and units. They process work orders and maintain accurate and detailed databases, handle customer relations issues, ensure completion of service level agreements and contracts through quality control, identify current projects and tasks to be completed, delegate and manage work among student workers, ensure the daily readiness of faculty and staff events (event set-up and breakdown), monitor compliance with safety procedures, and gather cost information. This position makes recommendations to the Dean, Associate Dean of Academics, Associate Dean of Finance and Chief of Staff regarding all aspects of building planning, including facilities scheduling and usage, expenditure tracking, office and studio space, and furniture and equipment. They maintain positive relationships between service providers, such as Facilities Management employees, vendors on contract, faculty and staff. Minimum Qualifications:

Anticipated hiring range: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. Review of applicants will begin April 11th, 2025.
