Overview

As a Geotechnical Engineering Project Manager at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll deliver geotechnical solutions that shape communities and support critical development across a wide range of project sectors including real estate, oil & gas, and public infrastructure.

CEC Charleston is part of our West Virginia operations, which also includes offices in Bridgeport and Martinsburg. Opened in December 2023, CEC Charleston was born out of an opportunity to further serve the state of West Virginia. We're ranked #1 in West Virginia on the 2024 ENR Mid-Atlantic Top Design Firms List. We are excited to present a full suite of engineering and environmental services to the region. Our services include all aspects of civil/site engineering, construction inspection, geotechnical engineering, surveying, and water resources.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and execute geotechnical subsurface investigations

Coordinate and monitor field drilling and sampling operations
Prepare boring logs and develop laboratory testing programs
Analyze lab data and perform geotechnical design calculations
Prepare technical reports and foundation recommendations
Provide design input for: Building foundations, Cut and fill slopes, Retaining walls, Landslide remediation, Roadway rehabilitation
Oversee construction materials testing services, including: Earthwork, Concrete, Foundations, Masonry, Pavement testing
Supervise and mentor technical staff and field personnel
Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies

Qualifications

5+ years of geotechnical experience, preferably in a consulting environment
B.S. in Civil Engineering or related (M.S. a plus)
Engineer-In-Training (EI/EIT) required
Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in WV preferred
Strong technical writing and communication skills
