Systems Business Analyst

Location: Durham or Philadelphia (2-3 days a week in office)

Support the Contract Operations' suite of system applications including development of business requirements, user acceptance testing, training for system enhancements, defect identification and tracking resolution, data request, data fixes, ad-hoc reporting, and system administrator functions. Additionally, this role is responsible for maintaining and administrating a vendor supplied application for the Gross To Net Finance and Forecasting teams. This includes all necessary activities to keep data from source systems flowing into the application as well as conducting application administration duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage system upgrades & data conversion projects including leading project teams to aid in the business requirements discovery phase, development and negotiation of system business requirements with Tech, development & execution of system test plans, and system data conversions and data reconciliation. Test system upgrades for supported systems (CARS, Gross to Net) and interfaces (e.g. ECS, GSK Direct, GPA) to minimize impact on overall control environment.
  • Execute system administration and support activities as required to fulfill business needs including managing system security access
  • Act as a liaison and consultant to various stakeholder groups and represent Contract Management Operations on cross-functional teams. Interact with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
  • Document and resolve system issues, problems, or defects with minimal downtime and disruption to the business.
  • Support system activities in compliance with audit review requirements.
  • Develop and implement training process and procedures for system applications that will ensure all business users are fully trained on the system and kept up-to-date with all system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Establish and maintain system policies and process documents in accordance with established departmental guidelines.
  • Provide direction to Tech in the categorization and prioritization of system enhancements and deliverable due dates.
  • Communicate planned system changes and manage business expectations related to requested system work.
  • Support data needs data conversion projects using reporting and/or database tools. Ability to understand and create SQL queries for ad-hoc data extraction.

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5 + years of experience
  • HP Application Lifecycle Management experience in the creation, loading, and maintenance of test cases.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products, Visio, Teams, etc.
  • Ability to understand and create SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of report writing tools such as Power BI and Cognos BI
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work
Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Knowledge of pharmaceuticals and managed markets.
  • An understanding of the business needs to be able to interact with IT.
  • Prior experience with IT implementations and system upgrades to manage planned system changes and business expectations related to requested system work.
