DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Through your participation in the comprehensive training program, you will acquire essential skills to assist in the inspection of all facets of transportation construction projects. This includes verifying grades, elevations, and the layout of structures and roadways in collaboration with contractors and surveyors. You will play a vital role in completing necessary documentation, reviewing contractor work, and working as part of the inspection team in accordance with departmental standards. Additionally, you will engage with Department staff, various agencies, legislators, and the public to ensure the effective management of transportation projects. Your responsibilities will also include addressing field construction issues, performing calculations to verify material consistency, creating sketches, noting changes in field plans, and maintaining detailed inspection and quality control reports. Ultimately, you will support the successful completion of transportation projects while adhering to all regulations, policies, and procedures, thereby promoting efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
