The Lead is responsible for an assigned manufacturing area. They will assist and support the supervisor with employee training, safety adherence, department performance, product quality, process improvement, and meeting production target goals. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies are essential functions of this role. Hours are Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-2:30am. This is for the Stacking/Set-up Department. Enforces strict safety guidelines and ensures environmental compliance is being adhered to by employees. Responsible for ensuring that the department is running efficiently and within standards for productivity, labor, and raw materials. Completes department audits and ensures assigned safety and compliance training is being completed and upheld by employees. Provides coaching and training to improve employee performance and acknowledges positive results when achieved. Recommends staffing adjustments including hours, shifts, and overtime to meet area specific objectives. Oversees and maintains a clean work environment. Monitors and reports department issues. Assists with identifying and implementing process improvements within the department. Communicates the needs of the department to the supervisor, to ensure that the proper resources are available to meet production target goals. Adheres to and communicates the policies of the company to employees and follows-up that those requirements are met.? Responsible for tracking and reporting daily production metrics to the supervisor. Other assigned duties as needed. High School or GED preferred OSHA10 certified, preferred 1 year experience in paint manufacturing, preferred 1 year experience material handling equipment (forklift, crane, etc.), preferred Knowledge of basic hand tools preferred A proven track record in safety excellence is required. Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries. Ability to read and interpret work orders. Meet department and production goals set by supervisor. Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations. Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment. Adheres to the company's employee handbook policies and embodies the organization's core values. Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed. Complete company compliance and safety training when required. Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment. Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following: Safety protocols require the completion and passing of a respiratory fit test Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times Standing and walking for long durations Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
