Job Description

Analyze a variety of oil samples. This includes: Any combination of analytical tests on incoming oil samples; Samples from various points in the oil process; finished storage samples and; Samples from tank trucks being shipped to customers. Manage ingredient program, approve product, and manage lab supplies.

Responsibilities:

1. All duties of Lab Tech II.

2. Communicate test results to corporate management when test indicates corrective action is necessary. Complete Variance Request as needed.

3. Order, receive and track Lab Supplies.

4. Create and receive POs in Maximo.

5. Trouble shoot and repair equipment, calibration of lab equipment, and work with equipment vendors.

6. Schedule equipment repairs, maintenance and calibration with vendors.

7. Must be HACCP/PPC and SPC trained.

8. Approve daily paperwork, monitor daily HACCP paperwork, approve product in TLC

9. AOAC/AOCS testing, summary, and entry.

10. Understand and operate IBM for Quality functions

11. Assist with all lab tech training.

12. Responsible for tracking hold and near miss product

13. Ingredient inventory reconciliation

14. Create COAs as needed

15. Perform Mock Recalls and traceability exercises

17. Verify labels and primary packaging

18. Maintain approved ingredient binders, verify all ingredient suppliers

19. Food safety/security team member

20. Complete weekly and monthly weight reports and communicate to Corporate.

21. Fill in for QA Supervisor as needed

22. Attend and participate in customer, third party and regulatory audits

23. Perform special tested when requested by management.

24. Serve as the lead lab tech on shift.

Qualifications

Education:Associate or Bachelors degree

Related Experience: 3 to 5 years' previous laboratory experience preferred

Equipment/Software Skills: Advanced data entry skills required

Additional Information

Physical:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and stand. The employee will also be required to use hands, arms and fingers. This position is required to be respirator qualified.

Sensory: Visual, speaking, and touch is essential.

Mental/Reasoning:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
