About the Opportunity:

The Maintenance Administrative Intern will support key initiatives aimed at optimizing our maintenance operations, with an emphasis on streamlining inventory management, auditing preventative maintenance tasks, and improving safety equipment organization. This role provides a unique opportunity to work on critical projects that directly impact the efficiency, accuracy, and safety of our maintenance department. Under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, the intern will gain hands-on experience with maintenance processes, inventory systems, and safety compliance efforts.

Location: Stuart, Florida

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the audit and reorganization of critical spare parts and consumables inventory to improve efficiency.
  • Support the documentation of preventative maintenance tasks by auditing and updating asset entries.
  • Collaborate on improving the structure and organization of critical PPE (personal protective equipment) and LOTO (lockout/tagout) equipment storage systems.
  • Conduct audits of Asset Essentials entries to ensure accurate machine categorization and task assignments.
  • Update legacy records and ensure compliance with the latest maintenance task formats.
  • Provide support to the maintenance team in daily inventory and asset management tasks.
  • Assist in improving the availability of parts and equipment to reduce downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Help streamline safety equipment storage and ensure proper inventory control.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to integrate project goals with the overall maintenance strategy.
  • Track progress on projects, report on challenges, and suggest improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in a relevant degree program (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with inventory management systems (Asset Essentials or similar platforms).
  • Basic understanding of maintenance processes and safety protocols in industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with audit processes and data entry procedures.
  • Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Previous internship or work experience in a manufacturing or operational setting.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in operations, maintenance, or safety management.

Physical Requirements

  • May regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, acetone, alcohol, argon, braze alloys, nitrogen, hydrogen, oil based lubricants and cleaning solutions
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moderate cold and extreme heat
  • Night and/or weekend hours may be required
