Job Description Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) and their divisions NEA and TiNi are leaders in energetic and non-energetic system solutions offered to aerospace, satellite and defense customers for a wide variety of applications. EBAD products and capabilities set the U.S. standard and are highly sought after in the international community. EBAD seeks a Material Planning Lead for the leadership, oversight, and maintenance of material flow and logistical requirements. This position is located in Moorpark, CA and reports to the Sr. Supply Chain & Logistics Manager. Summary of Responsibilities: The material planning lead manages and controls inventory movement from customer order to shipment. This position oversees and coordinates all inventory movement associated with project based standard-mod and development product manufacture. Principal duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Oversight and leadership of the Material Planners
- Work within a team structure to achieve company and department goals
- Perform additional duties related to specific area assignments when requested
- Provides training and development to new and existing employees to cultivate high performing teams
- Communicate and plan daily work with leadership
- Directs and assigns work to employees within material planning
- Holds employees accountable for attendance, performance, productivity and teamwork
- Communicates any performance concerns to Supply Chain Manager
- Presents area metrics
- Reviews supply and demand within ERP to ensure timely availability of production materials to meet contract requirements.
- Effectively manages raw material receipt, inventory and distribution including finished goods movement and shipment to customers.
- Maintains accurate and timely records of inventory movements and transactions including Customer Furnished Property.
- Establishes material requirements and requisitions materials to assure on time delivery to production.
- Allocates existing inventory and creates planned shop orders in ERP for procurement of material. Ensures demand is generated properly for all materials.
- Maintains Receiving Inspection and X-ray priorities.
- Coordinates with Material Control for timely release of Shop Order and material kits based upon production demand.
- Issues all shop floor point of use materials and reports production in ERP.
- Arranges shipments, creates packing slip, and performs logistical liaison functions.
- Interfaces with other functions to effectively and efficiently monitor material flow and work prioritization from customer order receipt to project close out.
- Effectively supports cycle counts and/or physical inventory audits including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation associated with inventory inaccuracies.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement efforts and Kaizen activities.
- Actively leads, creates and energizes positive change. Initiates investigation and involves the key personnel required to resolve problems that may impact scheduled shipments.
- Trains other departments on inventory best practices and cycle counting.
Requirements:
- 3+ years in Materials Management, Logistics, and Planning
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
- Ability to view at a high level the overall potential risks and impacts within the organization based on material planning decisions
- Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and to cross-functional groups.
- Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management
- Understanding of configuration management, supply chain, material control, manufacturing, and shipping processes
- Experience with Import/Export requirements and international shipping
- Good working knowledge of computer applications such as ERP/MRP, Proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Ability to interpret and understand work orders as well as mechanical, technical, and electronic drawings, manuals, and other related documentation
- Ability to motivate people, particularly in supply chain and materials management environment
- LEAN Manufacturing concept implementation experience preferred
Compensation: Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
