Job Description

Position Summary:

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining forge dies by performing the following duties

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

In performing functions, duties or tasks, employees are required to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of Company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable Company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.

  • Schedules Die Maintenance personnel
  • Ensure proper training has been completed and equipment is available.
  • Reviews the weekly forge schedule to ensure that tools required for the next week's production are ready for use.
  • Coordinates the disposition of rejected dies with Manufacturing Engineering/Tooling supervisor and Metallurgy departments sending and retrieving tools designated for storage in Lancaster facility.
  • Maintains the electronic "Tooling Inspection Status Report" for all dies; issues the updated weekly "Die Grind Backlog Report"; maintains the tooling inventory system to ensure that tool location information is current and accurate; and updates the scrap die inventory report.
  • Visually inspects trimmers and maintains their status electronically.
  • Reviews and updates the "Tool Status Report" to ensure that tools are or will be ready for the next production start date.
  • Works closely with Forge Supervision to coordinate the daily delivery of tools to the forge units and preheat furnaces, ensuring that the tools to be delivered have accurate and complete markings.
  • Assures that there is an adequate inventory of die polishing consumables and equipment is properly maintained.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Maintains time and production records. Trains new employees and has the background and ability to perform the job requirements of all the workers supervised. Maintains performance records for each employee involved in die grinding and polishing.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems; initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals; enforces safety regulations; initiates and maintains 6S and Lean initiatives.
  • May be asked to assist in the Forge Department as an operator when the department has a backlog or low on staff.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $20.00 to $27.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
