Leader of data engineering for Northside Hospital's Business Data and Technology Enablement Department. The position will be responsible for the design and build of data pipelines and models within the Northside Hospital Enterprise Data Warehouse, while compiling requirements which are thorough and communicated effectively in order to liaison to Project manage the ETL implementation model. This will include functions of data modeling, data quality assurance, data documentation and stakeholder collaboration to define data needs and deliver actionable insights. This includes creatively utilizing BIDS' technical and analytical BI stack to build sustainable and supportable solutions, being well versed in Northside's enterprise data warehouse, and understanding of both technical and business process. As a leader, this position will lead/mentor a diverse group of technical staff in support of these actionable solutions and strategies. This position must be able to multitask on multiple high profile projected and manage shareholder expectation.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Coordinate strategy and deployment of end-user Business Intelligence toolsets. This will include forward thinking analytics and predictive models.
  2. Acts as a subject matter expert of the Enterprise Data Warehouse for internal and external customers.
  3. Monitors data quality, identifies inconsistencies, and assists in the implementation of data cleansing solutions for Northside's Analytics and Executive community.
  4. Assists with oversight, accuracy and documentation of data sources, data models and data integrations of the end-user data layer (DWH).
  5. Creates, manages and maintains project plans for multiple projects at a time.
  6. Ensures data integrity and recommendations to improve processes and systems, enhance data accuracy and increase the availability and usefulness of integrated information.
  7. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of all hospital data and keeps abreast of all major operational factors which may affect data, data integration and data deployment.
  8. Ensures performance optimization through analyzing and optimizing data pipelines for efficiency and scalability.
  9. Assists BIDS leadership on cross-functional strategies spanning internal development of toolsets.
  10. Develops and manages resources associated with advanced analytic solutions.
  11. Performs special analytics as needed for Northside's Executive Management.
  12. Identify opportunities and recommendations for process improvement.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

  1. 5-10 years of experience particularly in the fields of data integration, data modeling and/or analytics.
  2. BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or related field of study -OR- BS with proven relevant work experience.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience data warehouses and business intelligence tools including quality control and data interpretation.
  4. Programming knowledge or training in scripting/programming languages (ie: Perl, VB Script).
  5. Advanced SQL writing skills
  6. Leadership and staff management skills
  7. Ability to gather requirements, communicate effectively and managed to deadlines.
  8. Ability to creatively assimilate various toolsets and programming to create comprehensive user-intuitive interfaces for analytics.
  9. Demonstrated project management skills
  10. Ability to effectively articulate root cause analytics.

PREFERRED:

  1. 10-15 years healthcare data analytics systems experience.
  2. Proven proficiency in latest concepts and technologies surrounding Advanced Analytics, Predictive Analytics, Prescriptive Analytics and/or statistical analytics.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge building analytics within Tibco Spotfire, MS PowerBI or other visualization tool.
  4. 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  5. MS/MHA/MBA or related Master's degree/work experience.
  6. Knowledge in cloud-based architecture design in Azuze, IBM, Snowflake, Databricks or similar.
