They are currently transitioning from RHEL8 to RHEL9, upgrading servers weekly. The team supports developers and database administrators, working within standard release windows, including after-hours and weekends, as well as non-production release windows during the day. Continuous activity involves collaborating with developers and release teams, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining server functionality. Role Specifics: Linux Administrator / Engineer in a contract-to-hire service. Vendor will provide (1) consultant to provide administrative support and engineering within the Linux and WebSphere environment which include Linux RHEL8 and RHEL9 servers and OpenShift Kubernetes clusters. *Linux RHEL Administration including deployment, upgrades, certificate renewals, software installs, patching, and incident management. *Java Application Server administration and support in the WebSphere and Tomcat environment within IT Operations and various Asset teams. *Support other assets owned by the Linux team including Linux OS, Puppet, GrayLog, F5, OpenShift Kubernetes and others. *Work at the direction of the Lead Engineers and Linux IT Manager. Experience in Linux administration and Java Application Support is required. WebSphere administration experience is desired but not required. The candidate will be trained on the WebSphere essentials. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* -System Administration -Linux -Red Hat -RHEL 8 -RHEL 9 -Application Server -Scripting -Automation *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
