Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled GIS Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, compiling, and analyzing geographic data from various sources, including maps, surveys, and satellite images. This role involves digitizing and entering data into GIS databases, creating and updating GIS maps and layers using GIS software, and performing quality control checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Key Responsibilities: * Collect and compile geographic data from maps, surveys, and satellite images. * Digitize and enter geographic data into GIS databases. * Create and update GIS maps and layers using GIS software. * Perform quality control checks on GIS data to ensure accuracy and completeness. * Analyze geographic data to identify patterns, trends, and relationships. * Assist in the development and implementation of GIS projects and initiatives. * Provide technical support and training to GIS users. * Maintain GIS databases and archives. * Keep abreast of advancements in GIS technology and best practices. * Collaborate with other departments to integrate GIS data and functionality into business processes. Required Skills: * Proficiency in ArcGIS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, G/Tec. * Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. * Good communication and teamwork skills. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, or a related field (certificate or associate's degree may be acceptable for some positions). * 5+ years of experience in GIS, G/Tech, CAD. * Experience in a utility environment with CAD/GIS. Experience Level: * Intermediate level. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
