Position Title: Quality Engineer

Company: Nolte Precise Manufacturing

Location: Cincinnati, OH


Company Vision: To be an industry expert for supplying precision machined components and assemblies to OEM's in the U.S.A.

Summary: The Quality Engineer leads the design and implementation of the quality plan at the product and process level. The Quality Engineer supports Manufacturing and Engineering to design processes and ensure the quality function is effective in meeting customer expectations, and prepares PPAP, PFEMA, and FAI submissions. The Quality Engineer monitors quality system metrics and recommends and drives continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Facilitate the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, which includes risk analysis, ballooning prints, development of measurement processes and inspection plans, design and implementation of special gauges, gauge R&R tests, capability studies, and guiding manufacturing, engineering, production, and suppliers to effectively comply with customer standards and qualifications.
  • Complete FAI, PFEMA, and PPAP product submissions to customers
  • Creating first article documents under AS9102.
  • Creating parts submission warrants.
  • Train staff on measurement tools and inspection plans as needed.
  • Assist engineering and production teams to maintain capability standards by analyzing SPC data.
  • Participate or lead in root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve manufacturing problems and customer quality issues.
  • Suggest process improvement ideas on existing operations.
  • Interface with internal engineers and customer engineers to solve problems.
  • All other duties as assigned



Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Experience with CNC turning/milling equipment
  • Working programming knowledge of CMM and PC-DMIS
  • GD&T proficiency
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of Discus is a plus
  • Strong blueprint reading abilities
  • Strong working knowledge of metrology, instruments, and dimensional measurements techniques
  • Strong knowledge of corrective actions and various problem solving techniques (5-why, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills, including statistical software
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • CAD/CAM



Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting up to 25lbs, including bending, twisting, crouching, etc.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hour work shift
  • Must be able to work with oils/coolants
  • Must be able to work in noisy environment
