Manager, Foodservice Sourcing
What you will be doing: The Manager Food Service Sourcing will have extensive experience in managing the contracting life cycle. Premier's foodservice program includes members in all classes of foodservice trade (healthcare, education, hospitality, etc.). This person will be responsible for:
Contract negotiation through vendor management (marketing support, RFI/RFP/RFQ/bid package, terms and conditions, price negotiation, vendor management and renewals). Implementing and managing control policies and procedures and developing quality control measures/key performance indicators; including engagement strategies & metrics for contracted suppliers Creating and presenting category analysis to the Foodservice Committee for contract awards. Providing membership support on open questions and opportunities.
Managing ongoing category performance, including but not limited to: identifying potential opportunities for contract coverage, maintaining awareness of ongoing industry trends, and ensuring compliance with contracted price change terms Key Responsibilities Project Management - 30%
Develops and manages workplans and monitor necessary timelines Uses contract calendar and project workplans to properly allocate resources to projects and tasks Prioritizes and systematically organize the team's efforts around project scope and objectives Ensures scope is clearly defined and validated continuously Adheres to / adjusts the milestones and cycle times outlined in product category workplan Coaches team members in prioritizing tasks and handling daily work challenges. Delegates decision-making authority and task responsibilities to appropriate subordinates: utilizing subordinates' time, skills, and potential effectively. Develops and review project status reports which outline project accomplishments, issues and timelines Sets up ongoing procedures for collection and review of information necessary for the management of projects or an organization Reviews and approves deliverables. Reviews work of team members for accuracy Identifies and resolves project issues Defines critical issues for risk management with clients and manages clients' expectations related to these areas Participates in Product Planning and Contract Management sourcing meetings to ensure a seamless integration throughout the Product Planning, Contract Negotiation and Contract Management processes
Process Execution - 30%
Develops sourcing strategy for product category Communicates with supplier Monitors events (RFP, Member Analysis, Negotiation Meetings) Reviews Terms and Conditions changes requested by suppliers Develops high level negotiation strategy Develops supplier detailed negotiation strategies Develops negotiation meeting materials Conducts simple negotiation meetings with suppliers to maximize participants' contributions and to develop a creative solution which achieves desired results Participates in complex negotiation meetings with suppliers to maximize participants' contributions and to develop a creative solution which achieves desired results Builds the recommendations for Final Contract Award Presents recommendations to cross functional team for award. Reviews savings analysis Creates / coordinates final contract Assists Contract Management Area in the development of the Contract Launch Plan
Strategic / Administrative - 20%
Provides detailed, constructive developmental feedback throughout the project as well as during the performance review process Resolves employee issues and provides counseling Participates in training
Quality Control - 20%
Required Qualifications Work Experience: Years of Applicable Experience - 5 or more years
Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Experience in foodservice operations, administration, marketing, purchasing/category management, and/or sales with strong product knowledge Contract/account management in with diverse and vast contracts Demonstrated analytical experience managing and interpreting contract related data (large data sets) and presenting results Experience leading cross-functional projects

Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $80,000 - $148,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
