Our Adult Emergency Department has 36 beds, 4 fast track beds, and 5 behavioral health beds. We see approximately 140-160 patients/day. What you will do:

The Shift Director is accountable to ensure the smooth operation of the hospital during his/her shift, and to facilitate problem resolution throughout the hospital. The Shift Director assumes responsibility and is accountable for the overall operation of all the units in the absence of the Unit Manager/Director on evening, night, weekends and holidays. The Shift Director provides clinical expertise and oversees management activities during his/her shift in consultation with the Unit Manager/Director for that unit, when appropriate. For matters of a serious nature, the Shift Director would consult with the Administrator on Call (AOC).

What you will bring:




  1. Graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing.
  2. BSN required, or must complete a BSN program within 4 years of their hire date with steady progress toward degree completion. Steady progress is defined as a minimum of 9 credits per calendar year from the time they begin course work. RNs who are not yet enrolled in a BSN program, must apply to and be accepted into a BSN program within six months of hire, with course work to begin promptly after acceptance.
  3. Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in health care setting required of which at least three (3) years must include administrative and supervisory responsibilities or equivalent in education and experience.
  4. Current licensure as a registered nurse by the State of Maryland.
  5. Must maintain current CPR certification.



Salary Range: Minimum $46.57/hour - Maximum $72.18/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
