Overview
Reviews residential mortgage loans of assigned business line originated by the Residential Lending Group and Community Banking after closing. Ensures compliance with Bank policy, state and federal regulation. Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers and co-workers.
Responsibilities
- Reviews certain loan types to verify all required documents are present. Review moderate to complex documentation to reflect accuracy of data and conformity to established procedures and policies. Ensure high levels of data integrity of critical customer and portfolio terms and conditions.
- Reviews all loans for approval by appropriate authority level (Officer, Senior Officer, Board of Investment).
- Reviews and interprets all loan disclosures for accurate disclosure of APR, payments terms, etc. Reviews all notes, mortgages and/or other documents for compliance, accuracy and completeness. Determine if legal documentation is missing from closing package.
- Reviews all loans for adherence to Bank credit policy relative to rate, term, collateral, etc. Identifies Credit Policy Exceptions. Enters and tracks missing legal documentation on Document Tracking System and updates system upon receipt, expiration and maturity. Creates reports from the Document Tracking System to identify missing legal documentation for branches, lenders and Attorneys.
- Review notes and other legal documentation prior to closing for Attorneys, branches, originators, and lenders.
- Follows-up with appropriate party (attorney, loan officer, branch, underwriting team, customer) via written memo to the Attorney or customer identifying the issue(s) and how to take corrective action. Takes customer calls when necessary.
- Works with insurance companies, customers, attorneys, lenders, and other vendors to ensure flood and insurance tracking and monitoring is up to date and conforming to Federal and State regulations.
- Keeps well informed of Bank policies, state and federal regulations. Attends relevant seminars and training programs. Makes recommendations on procedures for post closing. Surfaces issues/problems to Loan Servicing Manager relating to regulatory, compliance, documentation, and efficiency areas so corrective action can be taken.
- Ensure effective and timely completion of special projects as assigned. Contributes to effective workflow with a team.
- Reports all exceptions to the Loan Servicing Manager.
- Refers sales opportunities to other departments or bank affiliates in support of established objectives.
- Performs related and unrelated duties as may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, plus specialized training or course work is required.
- One to three to years experience in related field is required.
- Must have a solid understanding of legal documentation and experience with loan products.
- Paralegal certificate preferred.
- Must be very detail oriented, highly organized and customer service oriented.
- Must possess at least intermediate technology skills including knowledge of word processing database and spreadsheet applications.
