Pay Range: $111,132-$124,447
Job Summary:

The Sr. Environmental Engineer works closely with both the region and plant environmental personnel as well as the HSE leaders as needed. The role is designed to improve the functional deployment of environmental compliance performance and sustainability programs through execution of above plant programs across the organization and support the plants and regional staff in key areas of program development and deployment.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum seven (7) years of environmental compliance experience.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and environmental consultants on environmental permitting activities and projects.
  • Must have experience in changing culture and hands on implementation of environmental programs.
  • Must demonstrate good investigatory and problem-solving capabilities, using established and effective methods.
  • PE, CHMM or CEM is a positive but not required.
  • Must possess the skill set to manage environmental projects, programs and develop comprehensive presentations.
  • Good knowledge of US environmental law (CA, RCRA, SDWA, CERCLA, TSCA, DOT) required. Understanding of Canadian law is a positive.
  • Must have strong technical writing and data analysis skills
  • Must have experience with an ISO 14001 environmental management system.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifies best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives to assure compliance, minimize the environmental risks of ENA operations and manage environmental impacts for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Provides technical guidance, mentoring and 'boots on the ground' support to plant personnel on environmental and sustainability initiatives and necessary changes. Understands and works within a 'Management of Change' system and holds plants accountable to proper MoC deployment.
  • Performs environmental audits and inspects facilities and processes to identify and correct potential issues. Ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of specialized environmental initiatives initiated by plants or above plant with specific focus on business case development for sustainability projects targeting Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions (operationally related). Helps oversee these projects and pulls together reporting of results / impact for the organization.
  • Develop, conduct and/or coordinate worker training in areas such as environmental laws and regulations, Aspect & Impact recognition, HSE leadership, and use of HSE processes. Engages shop floor employees.
  • Investigates and assists investigation of environmental incidents to determine causes and appropriate corrective and preventative measures.
  • 70% travel required.
