Responsibilities
The Operations Support SME will conduct operational planning for national security DoD operations, often involving other DoD, interagency, or defense industrial base partners. Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, collaborate, and liaise with other DoD and USG partners, organizations, and agencies, at the senior level, and incorporate their requirements and/or equities into the operational plan.
- Provide advice and planning for navigating requests for operational approvals from senior and executive-level DoD decision-makers.
- Provide advice and planning support for interagency conferences and working groups.
- Provide expertise to conduct interagency operational planning coordination/deconfliction, and cooperation on operational manners.
- Maintain current geopolitical situation awareness to assist with scoping and framing planning efforts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with planning elements in other DoD and interagency organizations.
- Review existing operational plans; provide recommendations or improvements.
- Conduct project management, prepare cost estimates, develop timelines and milestones, and develop off-boarding criteria as part of planning efforts.
Qualifications
Qualified Candidates Will Have:
- 15+ years of experience coordinating, leading, and executing operations with JSOC, SOF, DoD and / or the interagency.
- 5+ years' experience planning and conducting interagency operations with other government entities, to include the DoD and Special Operations Forces
- Must have a demonstrated expertise of DoD or other planning methodologies.
- Must be familiar with project management concepts and software.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to plan sensitive operations for both DoD and interagency operations.
- Must be a self-starter who thrives in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment, can accomplish high-level tasks independently, and works well with other team members and customers
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of planning experience with Joint Special Operations Command, COCOM, Joint Staff, or Integrated Joint Special Technical Operations
- 5+ years' experience planning and conducting interagency operations with other government entities, to include the DoD and Special Operations Forces
- 5+ years' experience planning and conducting interagency operations with other government entities, to include the DoD and Special Operations Forces
- INDOPACOM and EUCOM experience is desirable.
