Visiting Asst Professor-School of Public Administration

The School of Public Administration (SPA) at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a full-time, visiting assistant professor position in public administration to begin in August 2025. Candidates with an interest in human resources and diversity, equity, and inclusion are particularly encouraged to apply; however, other specializations, such as tribal administration, non-profit management and comparative public administration, will also be considered. Applicants must have a PhD in public administration or a related field by the date of appointment. For best consideration, all application materials must be received by May 1, 2025.

Applications must demonstrate evidence of excellence in teaching and research, as well as a desire to contribute to the larger goals of the School. The new faculty member will contribute to core, required undergraduate and graduate courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in public administration or
  closely related field by start date of appointment
  

Preferred Qualifications:

* Demonstrated strength in teaching an array of unique courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels as evidenced by the submitted CV, cover letter, and statement of teaching philosophy.

* Demonstrated potential to develop research programs and publications as evidenced through the submitted CV and references.

* Demonstrated ability to teach human resources and diversity, equity, and inclusion as evidenced by submitted CV

* Ability to mentor diverse students at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, as evidenced by the submitted CV, cover letter, and/or references.

* Ability to contribute to other core areas within the School, as evidenced by the submitted CV and/or letters of recommendation.

* Interested in contributing to program development.

* A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities as evidenced by the submitted CV and/or references.
