We are currently hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer for our sunny Irvine, California site. A Day in the Life:

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you are responsible for unleashing the full potential of our people and culture while simultaneously achieving timely and cost-effective manufacturing of high-quality medical devices.
Quality Assurance Engineering work focuses on developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining quality evaluation and control systems/protocol.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manages supplier relationships and performance feedback
  • Ensures that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services.
  • Led projects focusing on developing working relationships with suppliers and the supply chain with regard to product development and procurement of parts
  • Qualifies suppliers according to company standards.
  • Monitors products, subassemblies and parts from suppliers through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur.
  • Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality
  • Update supplier's records, and supplier performance metrics, produce supplier reports and drive improvements.
  • Helps develop a supplier audit schedule and perform audits to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met.
  • Provide Supplier Quality support to new suppliers for a new manufacturing transfer project, integration, acquisition, or cost savings project.
  • Manage the Supplier Change process by working with suppliers to assess and manage changes.
  • Provides technical guidance and quality compliance for Supplier Quality engagement on products, subassemblies and parts and implementing strategies for driving product quality and continuous improvement, ensuring purchased products and components are manufactured and qualified in accordance to applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Alcon requirements.
  • Collaborates with cross functional team of Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, Buyer/Planners, Production and Procurement
  • Self-starter, seeks opportunities to improve processes, part quality, and overall efficiency
  • Applies project management and/or systems engineering tools to complete complex tasks

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)

The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

Work hours: 1st shift, 5-230 or 7-430

Travel Requirements: Up to 10%
