Overview

The Director of Business Operations is responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day functions of Business Operations and Behavioral Health Program Support at Lakeview. This role ensures timely implementation and consistent application of standardized business practices across all Lakeview facilities. The Director also serves as the designated Custodian of Records and Privacy Officer, ensuring adherence to federal regulations, including HIPAA, and compliance with Florida Statutes 394, 396, and 397. Working closely with senior leadership and the Corporate Compliance Office, this role supports the establishment and execution of privacy objectives and assists program areas in procedure implementation. This position is part of the Enterprise Development Team that is responsible for the development and implementation of system changes that support the Behavioral Health Division. The role demands effective problem-solving, coordination across departments, and the ability to manage sensitive issues while upholding strict privacy standards for client records. The position is responsible for the oversite of the Director of Health Information, Director of Reimbursement Services, Director of Business Practice Management and Director of Patient Access.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare management and at least seven (7) years of experience; oran equivalent combination of education and experience with eleven (11) years of relevant experience inhealthcare management, business operations, health information, compliance, privacy, riskmanagement, or related fields.
  • 5-7 years of experience in business operation, healthcare management, revenue cycle, insurance billing, coding, compliance, privacy, licensing or related fields.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong financial analysis skills with experience in budgeting, cost analysis, and reporting to support operational decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of and experience with state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, 42 CFR, Behavioral Health, Substance Abuse and privacy laws, with the ability to apply them effectively in practice.
  • In-depth knowledge of records management, privacy laws, access and release of information, and control technologies.
  • Familiarity with legal codes, court procedures, and the consequences of non-compliance.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and balance multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple relationships and initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in interpreting data to develop and implement actionable strategies.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and travel as needed.
  • Ability to maintain productive working relationships with staff, clients, insurers, and community providers.
  • Active participation in facility audits and monitoring processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to adhere to organizational policies and program-specific procedures.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a readiness to advocate for necessary changes.
  • Must pass applicable state or federal background screenings required by the organization.
