Job Description

This role will be responsible for supervising inventory counts; receiving bulk oil against purchase orders; ensuring that all manufacturing order and inventory receipts are done correctly and in a timely manner; reviewing inventory data; developing and analyzing reports; monitoring variances and presenting findings. A successful candidate is a team player who will continuously look for opportunities to make the team more efficient and effective, advocate best practices, develop and maintain operating procedures, keep attention to detail and use problem-solving skills to find effective solutions.

  1. Follow all safety, environmental rules, and regulations applicable to the position.
  2. Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirement.
  3. Develops daily reporting for plant management to review all inventory transactions including receipts, manufacturing orders, gain/loss transactions, shipping and other variances and follows up with responsible personnel on identified corrections.
  4. Receives bulk rail and piped oil against correct purchase orders. Coordinates with the Supply Chain team and local scheduler to verify the accuracy of oil receipts. Reviews received oil quantities against inventories and reconciles any discrepancies. Partners with the Supply Chain team, local scheduler and suppliers to improve and revise the oil receiving process as needed.
  5. Collaborates with plant personnel to conduct frequent cycle counts.
  6. Enforces timely input of transactions into M3 system and performs transactions to resolve exceptions while maintaining internal controls.
  7. Perform analysis on inventory gain/losses, identify root cause, and work with plant personnel to implement counter measures.
  8. Monitor yield analysis and identify areas of yield improvement.
  9. Create and analyze Days On Hold for location identifying and reporting drivers of change.
  10. Develop and maintain updated SOPs to support inventory, manufacturing order reporting and item receiving related departmental tasks and processes.
  11. Identify obsolescent and at-risk obsolescent inventory working with plant and corporate personnel in dispositioning inventory and to capture inventory reserve cost.
  12. Responsible for managing the monthly physical inventory process, reconciliation, and variance reporting.
  13. Provide support to plant site supply chain personnel, corporate supply chain group, and finance group.
  14. Participate in continuous improvement projects acting as on-site inventory continuous improvement lead.
  15. Other projects as requested by management to support the Finance and Valdosta Operations departments.
Qualifications

Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred. Bachelors in Supply Chain or Business with emphasis in Accounting will be considered or equivalent education and experience.

Related Experience:1 - 3 years of Manufacturing experience involving inventory and/or supply chain analysis.

Equipment/Software Skills:Excellent knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications. Advanced user of Excel (pivot tables, filters, look-up formulas) required. Infor M3 knowledge preferred.

Additional Information

Physical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands for extended periods of time in front of a computer monitor and use a computer keyboard and mouse.

Sensory:The employee will also occasionally stand and walk. Close vision needed for working on a computer for long lengths of time. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, management, and other employees of the organization. The noise level for this position is usually moderate.

Mental/Reasoning:This position requires a great deal of learning, reasoning, and analyzing of departmental databases and processes as well as the ability to analyze, interpret and manipulate financial data to ensure accruals are properly stated and accounts are properly reconciled.
