JOB DESCRIPTION:

DETAILS:Entry level Utility position pays $22.73/hr. Monday-Friday 8AM to 4:30PM

Health Care Benefits begin immediate upon hire. 401K, 100% Company Match up to 6% Individual contribution, along with an additional 2% Company Contribution for retirement. Vacation eligible for 20 hrs after 6 months. 40 hrs after 1 year.

Job consists of warehouse work, Carton Assembly & Pouring hot asphalt into Cartons.

Once Standard Work Assesment skills met & Forklift certified loading trucks, pay will increase to $25.33/hr.

The Asphalt Utility Person is an entry level position to Laborer/Lift Truck Operator (LTO) position whichis an hourly position, reporting to the Asphalt Plant Leader. The employee is responsible for coordinating production activities and maintaining product quality while performing associated activities within the packaged product operation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:




  • SAFETY

    • Follow and enforce all safety rules and procedures, training, and initiatives
    • Inspect vehicles before use and throughout shift
    • Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas
    • Participate on safety teams


  • QUALITY

    • Accurately enter data into computer system
    • Monitor quality of product before loading shipments
    • Confirm all load information on paperwork
    • Monitor and report unusual or suspect material issues


  • OPERATIONS

    • Physical work including

      • Lifting
      • Operating carton machinery
      • Pouring hot material into cartons
      • Climbing


    • Operating powered industrial vehicles to

      • Move product
      • Stack/stage raw materials and finished product
      • Load flatbed trailers
      • Stage finished product


    • Participate on process teams





SKILLS AND ABILITIES




  • Must be able to work with a computer to perform basic data entry
  • Must have the ability to do basic mathematical calculations
  • Must be able to operate forklift
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be able to work flexible shift schedules
  • Must be able to work rotating schedule, if required
  • Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility are required
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus



COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES




  • Must be able to operate a computer or other keyboard instrument



EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE




  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

  • Exposure to temperature extremes
  • Exposure to dust/dirt
  • Exposure to fumes
  • Exposure to materials with the potential to cause serious burns
  • Exposure to variable weather conditions, as 60% of work is outdoors
