JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY

The Assembler II has ownership of the assembly stations assigned. They are responsible for safety, efficiency, quality and overall productivity. The Assembler II will be expected to perform basic and intermediate assembly processes at within the department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Follow a prism-based schedule.
  • Ability to properly assemble basic and intermediate components within the Roto department which includes but not limited to cleaning parts, tapping inserts, bolting and/or using self-tapping screws to secure components to main body part.
  • Order and control hardware and ensure all inventory is accounted for.
  • Ability to recognize and follow departmental quality guidelines.
  • Perform all product packaging aspects, including boxing, labeling, taping, stapling, and stacking cartons using established pallet patterns.
  • Knowledge of using basic hand and power tools.
  • Maintains a personal efficiency rating under Key Performance Targets not to fall below 100%.
  • Willing to cross-train as needed in all the assembly cells, which include the non-foam line, Ingredient Bin line, LCD line, Ferry 11-line, Bus Cart line, Kits, Packs, Food Bar, and FSG line, Routing, andRe-box area.
  • Print labels using computers and proper application methods.
  • Perform FG (finished goods) transactions with all associated labeling requirements
  • Follow all established assembly procedures and work instructions.
  • Access the ESP program via computer
  • Ability to follow verbal assembly instructions and repeat the process
  • Adjusting to different work assignments throughout the workday.
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual and dependable, to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
  • Execute each essential duty satisfactorily to perform the job successfully.
  • Follows all safety procedures required in the work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
  • Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receiving and giving feedback, and treats everyone with respect.
  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
  • Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to the immediate manager.
  • Able to understand and demonstrate the Cambro company culture, display the company's core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).
  • Understands the department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieving these goals individually and as a team.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible, and be open to possible schedule changes to meet business needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Comprehend instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • ERP system experience with Prism, Intermec, and/or AS400 system
  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Sitting, walking, standing, bending at the neck, bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, twisting at the neck, repetitive use of hands, simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, reaching above and below the shoulder, carrying/lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Safety glasses
  • Utility gloves/cutting gloves
  • Leather top/steel-toe slip-resistant shoes
  • Hardhat
  • Hearing protection (e.g. earplugs, earmuffs)
  • Face shields
  • Face covering (mask) in accordance with company policy.

COMPENSATION RANGE:

$18.04 - $18.04

Salary may vary based on experience.
