The resin technician position is responsible for manufacturing resin (solvent acrylics and alkyds) and latex products. The total job is made up of four basic job components. The components for the resin technician job are Process Control, Filtering, Process Floor and Loading, and in-process and finished product testing. The person must also participate individually and/or as a group in team settings, employee training, presentations and other activities that are essential to the attainment of the team, plant, and/or site goals.

Night Shift: 12-hour shift (7:00 pm to 7:30 am) - Pitman schedule

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and vendors.

  • Manually clean reactors and all component parts related to breakdown and assembly.
  • Monitor and control resin batch through computer system.
  • Troubleshoot issues/problems if/when necessary.
  • Filter resin batches
  • Pre-batch and ensure that all raw materials are correct with amount and sku's.
  • Load raw materials manually or through the computer in control room.
  • Tank cleaning and selection appropriate to batch size. Maintaining cleanliness of assigned areas.
  • Maintain batch log sheets and all other paperwork for individual batches.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines, including active participation in SMART and other safety programs.
  • Read and understand written processing instructions for various products.
  • Perform batch adjustments upon the direction of QC
  • Pull samples to test batch as required while batch is in process.
  • Wash tanks when batches are completed.
  • Pump completed resins to tank farm.
  • Remove hazardous waste from latex batches and dispose in proper drums.
  • Perform and participate in general housekeeping activities.
  • Perform all requirements pertaining to Batch Tracking functions.
  • Off-load and load tank wagons of bulk materials.
  • Participation towards completion of other related tasks and duties as directed or needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have prior work experience in the paint or chemical processing industry
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example: forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollys, conveyor belts, etc.)
