Sr. Ride and Handling Engineer Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Senior Engineer for the Ride and Handling (R&H) Team What You Will Do: Evaluate the performance of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis prototype and production vehicles for R&H and other customer-related attributes Lead subjective and objective vehicle evaluations, identify potential customer complaint issues, investigate problem root causes, and propose countermeasures Develop and execute test plans, coordinate test vehicles, and manage supplier activities Ensure that all projects are completed efficiently and on schedule through effective project management and reporting Benchmark competitive vehicles for trends and technology Interface regularly with counterparts in Korea Organize resources in support of engineers from our global offices in their suspension development Keep an inventory of tires between our Irvine and California City, CA, locations Plan tire testing throughout the development of each vehicle Analyze customer feedback survey results (i.e., IQS, consumer reports, and internal clinics) Interface regularly with Hyundai and Kia affiliates in North America Provide the North American manufacturing plants for Hyundai and Kia with technical support Support development activities at our Proving Ground in California City, CA Create and present technical reports as assigned for management to review Mentor junior engineers on best practices and facilitate on-the-job learning Work in a team environment, as well as independently Travel up to 30%, both domestically and internationally What You Will Bring to the Role: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field of study 7+ years of experience with electric power steering, damper and spring/bar tuning, and tire development Well-versed in the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics Knowledge of data acquisition and analysis systems Familiarity with MATLAB Experience performing and leading vehicle evaluations Familiarity with performing testing, validation, research, and benchmarking activities/tasks concerning R&H-related systems Root cause analysis skills Proficiency in Microsoft programs, such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word Flexibility withprogram and process changes, as Hyundai/Kia/Genesis is willing to make late changes to satisfy customer needs Excellenttime management, self-management, and organization skills Project management experience Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and leadership skills Ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record What Hyundai Can Offer You: Zero-dollar Employee Premiums on Medical, Dental, and Vision for You and Your Family 100% Employer-paid Disability and Life Insurance Hybrid Work Schedule Generous Paid Time Off, Including Vacation, Sick, and Abundant Holidays Competitive Salaries Range of Position: $98,000 ~ $125,000/Year A Global Environment that Fosters Diversity Retirement Savings and Planning Benefits Access to Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts Flexible Work Hours Other Details: Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai KIA must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
