THE JOB:
The Senior Accounting Manager, Retail & Property Inventory Control, is responsible for all relevant inventory accounting and continuous process improvements, with a primary focus on inventory accuracy, ensuring that book inventory aligns with sub-systems, and that COGS are properly stated. The Manager plans and organizes resources to perform routine functions and responds to business unit questions. The Manager ensures that processes operate effectively and efficiently, that the team is successfully trained in their assigned processes, and that all work is reviewed in a timely manner. The Manager also ensures that changes, issues, or status updates are appropriately communicated to impacted parties. Additionally, the Manager models the core values of the department and promotes the satisfaction, recognition, and engagement of their team members.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory reporting, financial controls, and SLA/KPI performance.

  • Maintain accurate accounting practices across all business units.

    Safeguard company assets, authorize expenditures, and ensure timely payments of business obligations.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and business leaders, to support operational transparency and efficiency.

  • Enhance and streamline cross-functional processes for greater consistency and scalability.

  • Lead the implementation of process improvements using LEAN principles and recognize team contributions.

  • Recommend strategies for new business integration and volume expansion.

  • Participate in automation initiatives to support strategic goals using emerging tech like RPA and AI.

  • Drive change management efforts to support digital innovation and evolving work environments.

  • Foster a culture of high performance, inclusivity, and continuous learning.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience

  • Strong grasp of general accounting principles and systems.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).

  • Familiarity with MGMRI systems (Oracle, Dynamics, Coupa,) is a plus.

  • Experience in Financial Shared Services or hospitality preferred.

  • Demonstrates business acumen and data-informed decision-making.

  • Builds and motivates high-performing, diverse teams.

  • Champions innovation and adapts to change.

  • Collaborates effectively across departments and stakeholders.
