JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Endowment team within Treasury is seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of an Accountant.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Create endowment budgets, monitor and analyze endowment accounting records
  • Assist with budget transfer processes due to guideline revisions and cost center or business area change requests
  • Review and approve budgeting forms and journal entries for accuracy, completeness, and conformity with endowment guidelines
  • Submit journal entries related to endowment transfers
  • Assist colleges/campuses with existing endowments and review in conformance with state and federal regulations, as well as University policies
  • Create/update endowment/annual gift profiles, including reporting, reconciliation, and accounting within the endowment information system
  • Coordinate the depositing and recording of royalty and outside trust checks
  • Perform pending gifts reconciliations

The successful candidate for this position must possess the following characteristics:

  • Excellent communication skills to address unique situations and concerns in daily interactions with various Penn State offices and students
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to plan, organize, and direct work objectives, priorities, and deadlines
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and the ability to meet specific deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Education and Experience:

This position will be filled at the Advanced Professional level, minimally requires a Bachelor's degree, plus 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Microsoft Excel. Proficient knowledge of SAP preferred.

This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

Due to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of this position, successful completion of a credit history check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$61,800.00 - $89,600.00
