Route Driver FL

Job Summary:

The Route Driver operates a commercial vehicle for the purpose of collecting raw materials from a daily assigned list of customer accounts needing to be serviced.

• Responsible for keeping all required logs and paperwork as needed, both paper and electronic
• Responsible for correctly operating any commercial motor vehicle safely obeying all traffic laws and DOT regulations.
• Ability to do a thorough pre-trip and post trip of the equipment and report deficiencies is a must.
• You will maintain the company vehicle you use, maintaining it in cleanest possible manner, and operating it in accordance with company, federal, state and local regulations.
• Ability to professionally communicate with management, drivers, vendors, or any other person encountered during the course of a work shift.
• Ability to maintain excellent customer relations by providing quality service at all times
• Will be expected to be an integral part of the fleet and have the ability to communicate, conduct yourself, and be a professional at all times.
• Required to use all safety equipment as prescribed.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Due to DOT regulations and nature of the work, candidates need to be at least 21 years
• We require candidates to have a CDL Class B license with tanker endorsement and no E restriction due to the type of work and DOT requirements.
• Per DOT requirements, candidates need to also be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/

• Due to the nature of working on a route, having prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment would be preferred.
• In this role, having basic commercial motor vehicle maintenance experience / knowledge is a plus.
• In this position, the candidate will need to be able to use basic math and writing.
• Having an understanding of traffic laws along with DOT regulations related to the commercial vehicle being operated, would be an advantage.

• Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop and kneel.
• Occasionally push, pull, up to 100
• Occasionally lift up to 80
• Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.

Job functions will be carried out in a commercial vehicle that services customers daily and in a plant environment. Job functions may be carried out in inclement weather, which can include but is not limited to rain, sun, heat, humidity, and cold.
